This year the Borough was asked to enter a plot in the All London Best Allotment Plot Competition organised by The London Garden Society. We are pleased to announce that the plot of Mr and Mrs Kilmartin from Hill House Allotment Site came second at a ceremony at the Guildhall on October 22nd. Hearty Congratulations to them both on their success.
Could you spare the time to share your gardening skills and passion with children? Are you aged 55 or over? Why not become a Time Traveller?
Time Travellers are volunteers aged 55 or over who dedicate a few hours a week helping children at school. Recently we have had a number of requests for volunteers who are willing to assist with the school garden and gardening clubs.
Time Travellers also have the opportunity to enjoy a range of social activities in addition to the time they spend in school. An Age Concern Hillingdon Coordinator arranges regular meetings and past activities have included a trip to the theatre, a guided tour of Harrow School and plenty of meals out. To find out more information phone Sarah Millen - Time Travellers Coordinator on 01895 452666.
